This is a look I could not wait any longer to show, not only because its about the overalls trend, but also because it is about my first purchase from Nasty Gal. I found these overalls at a huge sale NG was having for only $24. I had already bought the perfect crop top for it at Charlotte Russe, and to dress it up a little I wore the cobalt sandals from La Defensa, along with the blue plaid shirt from American Eagle Outfitters that I can't stop wrapping around my waist. This look was for last Friday, which was another awesome day with my girls Ana and Viviana. We had lunch at P.F. Changs and later did some shopping (got a lot of amazing stuff, that I can't wait to show). Later I went out with Texi to Piñones where we had a perfectly criollo dinner with his boss and his family as a farewell now that Texi is starting an internship I am so excited about. The night did not end there though, after that we went to The Office and had a couple of beers with our other friends. It really was a great day, and I am so glad I was wearing such a comfortable trend.

Well, today is officially the last day of summer for me now that tomorrow will be the first day of what I hope will be a quick semester. At least I was able to enjoy these last few days properly. This look here is what I wore on Thursday to Ocean Park with Ana and Viviana, who took these great pictures. I was wearing a borrowed Cynthia Rowley white embroidered top from my mother's closet, the oldest and most torn out pair of shorts I own, my Sora sandals from Shoedazzle, and my flower crown from Ouna's Closet all on top of a Victoria Secret striped bikini (that thankfully still fits perfectly after being my first swimsuit from VS). The day was perfect for some quality tanning, and it ended perfectly with great tasting burgers from Buns. The look and the day were so great that I had to name this look after a great new song, by none other than Lady Gaga. Enjoy! When I see lace, especially in a bustier like this one, the first thing that comes to my mind is romance, hence the name for this look. I had finally found the bustier of my dreams at the vintage boutiqueOuna's Closet, and I got it with a 30% discount (wuju!), there were many sale items, but sadly I could only pick one. I was between this bustier and a denim playsuit, but soon I will come back and hopefully find even more beautiful items. I wore this to Shannan's on Wednesday, which was like Texi said "our billionth date". I paired the lovely bustier with my high waisted denim shorts from Seven by Lu, and my new blazer from Forever 21, along with my cobalt sandals from La Defensa, which you also saw in my "Land of the Free" look. Lately I have been obsessed with the color cobalt blue, so expect to see more looks with it, and definitely another look with this bustier. Last Friday was the premiere of Disney Channel's Teen Beach Movie, and inspired by it I decided to wear 60's beach look to Vega Baja on Sunday. The day of the television premiere I had friends over at my house to watch it since I was in it as an extra, and it was so much fun screaming out every time I saw a glimpse of myself in the background (5 seconds of blurred fame is better than nothing). I don't watch the Disney Channel like use to do, but I was glad to see a musical that had a mix of West Side Story, Grease, and even Hairspray. It was also great to remember how much fun it was to be on set with so many cool people and feeling like you traveled back in time wearing all those 60's clothes. What I was wearing to the actual beach was a pair of daisy printed high waisted shorts that I thrifted from my mother's closet when she was my age, with a white crochet crop top from Forever 21, and white sneakers from Aeropostale. I also accessorized with a red pinup girl style headband and my retro round sunglasses. I hope you get a chance to catch the movie, you'll never be to grown up to watch a Disney musical, especially one that relives so many classics like this one. I think I promised more beach looks a few posts ago, so here's one perfect look for summer. I named it after the song "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie, although in this case the lyrics would match perfectly if they said "if your going to Puerto Rico". I wore this last Sunday, which was an incredibly sunny and windy day at the beach in Isla Verde, Texi and I got slapped by the sand so many times we didn't stay for long. I was wearing the white flower crown from Ouna's Closet you saw first in this look, gray Volcom crop top from PacSun, and maxi skirt from Forever 21. Expect even more summer looks as I am almost finally done with the most hated semester so far.
These past couple of days I've been watching classic old movies like Poltergeist, Evil Dead 2, and 2001: A Space Odyssey, so I named this look after the song that the HAL computer in the last movie sings while it is being shutdown, which is kind of funny for me and Texi when we watch it. The whole movie is a trip without the need for drugs ;). The other two movies are pretty funny to me too because of the effects that for that time were horrific, but today they are horrifically fake. At least I am now prepared to watch the new version of Evil Dead, speaking of which I had to dress up as one of the characters of the movie for a promo I did yesterday where I had to scare people in their cars on their way to work from 6:30 to 9:30 A.M. I might have scared a few little kids too, but it was so much fun. After working as a zombie-ish person I changed into the outfit you see here. I was wearing a new pair of sunglasses and blazer from Charlotte Russe, a top I also just got from Old Navy, the vintage daisy print shorts you have seen before here, and the sandals from Shoedazzle you have seen in this look where I combine them with floral shorts too. Enjoy the next pictures and I hope the last one doesn't scare you, it's not as pretty as the first ones.
This week seems to be going fast with a lot still to do, but still I find the time to post this outfit I wore on Sunday to see Olympus Has Fallen with Texi. I named it after the song from P!nk that I can't get out of my head, if you've heard it you probably can't either. I was wearing another flower crown from Ouna's Closet only this time in white. I also wore the high rise shorts with studs from Forever 21, Romwe thigh-high tights, which sadly I tore a little while shooting this up on my rooftop (sacrifices must be made sometimes, but I'll make that work). The boots you have seen before in the look called Transmission, and finally the top, which is new to you, is from a store called Sirens that is very awesome and very economic (in other words cheap, but in a good way). Get ready because tribal prints are popping up in stores again, as my friend Ana noticed yesterday while we were window shopping at Forever 21 (really we were torturing ourselves since we couldn't by anything). Also I've been seeing a lot of places calling this type of look, the festival look. It's the first time I have heard of it, but I seem to be getting it ;) Enjoy.
What a nice weekend it has been! I've had so much fun that I was inspired to name this look after the lyrics of Ke$ha's song C'mon. On Friday after working until closing I went to a friend's birthday party which culminated in an awesome game of flip cup, girls against boys. I realized I was pretty good at the game even though I had only played it once before and even though the girls team lost, we were the best because two of the members decided to play with rum instead of beer (yeah hardcore) and our name and chant was the Va-jay-jays. Then yesterday I went to dinner at YaYa's with my best friend Ana and later we had an impromptu photo shoot at her house. It was too dark to take better pictures, but at least we ran into Eduardo who studied with us in High School so you can imagine it's been a while since we had seen him. I have to give credit to him for taking some pictures and the beautiful blue gate in the background is from his house. Also Ana helped taking a few pictures, styling and even helping me pose. I was wearing a white button up shirt from Forever 21 with golden collar tip pins from BCBG Generation, a vintage striped sweater from my grandmother's closet, the camouflage pants from Zara, and the beige snake sandals from Valija Gitana you've both seen here. I hope this look inspires you to take the risk of mixing prints, as you can see I did it with stripes and camouflage. I think stripes are the easiest prints to do this with, they look awesome with leopard, polka dots, floral, you name it! Well, as always, enjoy!
If you have heard the song from Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX that says this I hope you like it since I used the lyrics as the title for this look, even though I'm not so sure it is that 90's-ish, but "I don't care, I love it" (also from the song :D). If you don't like it at least I know you'll love this look (otherwise you would not be reading this post). The top is not exactly new, it is for you since I had worn it before but never posted it. I got it at the Shopaholic Bazaar. Now that I finally got the high rise shorts I had been dreaming of at Forever 21 at the price I had never imagined they would be I decided to make it public. Another mayor addition that completes this looks is the flower crown from Ouna's Closet, the vintage boutique where I got the red turban for this look. I wore this to class yesterday and I wish the day there would have been a little longer, because I wanted to walk around in this outfit a little more (yeah I like to show it off), no matter, the look was fun while it lasted and I'll probably wear it again.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Sorry for the no green on this look, but it's not from today anyway. I wore this to work yesterday and as you can see I tried the dutch crown braid again, only this time a little bit messier and more like a headband than a crown. And if you've seen Frida Kahlo you know why this is the name of the look. All that's missing is a uni brow and a flower crown. What I wore was a new maxi dress from Charlotte Russe with an amazing skull design in the back. The gold accessories are also from Charlotte Russe, the purse is vintage from my grandmother's closet, and the wedges are from Lola, which you might have seen here. I also wore this look to class on Tuesday, only with sandals instead of the wedges. It's such a comfy look no matter the shoes, and perfect for this time of year. I hope you enjoy this look, and the St. Patrick's day look is coming soon! Here's a closer look of the hair and makeup:
