As I promised on my last post here is the first count of my adventures with Texi in New York City last weekend. The day after he arrived we started our journey with a great brunch at, of course, Greenwich Village. After that we went directly to Times Square, took some pictures, and then went on the hunt for Rockefeller Center (this took us a while, but we finally made it). It truly was a majestic view of the Empire State Building and Central Park. We also visited the Public Library, another great historical and architectural masterpiece. The day did not end there, we had the chance to see Grand Central Station as well, and that was an incredible sight, not just because of the building details and the labyrinth like tunnels, but because of the amount of people moving at great speeds to get to their destinations. After seeing this, we spent most of the night on another hunt, this time for a place called Burp Castle in East Village. This is an amazing little beer place inspired by a monastery, they even shush you if you speak too loud. Being the City that Never Sleeps we still went looking for places to go after that, so we ended the night at a Puerto Rican restaurant in Amsterdam Street. More tales of this journey are to come in my next post so stay tuned, and enjoy!
