This is the day look I wore for what was an awesome day and night with friends. I wore this to have brunch with Ana and Vivian at La Mala Vida, a new and awesome looking place in Old San Juan where you can even have a limitless mimosa brunch (which is what caught my eye although I didn't have it this time). I did however have their Italian style eggs with potatoes, bacon, and toast along with a delicious dessert which was a Nutella and banana filled croissant. I tried their french toast too and that was so good as well. Well enough about food, now lets talk fashion. I was wearing a new pair of distressed boyfriend jeans from Old Navy with a new pineapple print top from Marshalls, Valija Gitana snake sandals, and a new purse from Forever 21. I think the jeans are definitely the statement piece here, but that's just me because I'm so obsessed about them (I've worn them almost every day since I got them). You could say I'm kind of obsessed about the pineapple print too, but living in a such a tropical place its hard not to. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this look and be sure to check out the other post which shows what I wore for the night out on this same day.

You have probably noticed by now that I'm a sucker for black and white outfits and also lately I can't stop creating looks with this amazing pair of high waisted jeans from Garage. For girls who are booties like me, which according to the Urban Dictionary means: A woman with an ass that is healthy and fleshy from a bit of jiggle to firm but always tasty, these types of bottoms are the best to flaunt our asset. I wore this a while a go to hang out with my friend Vivi at La Placita in Santurce, which is the go to place for those Thirsty Thursdays (although I miss the real thing back in Albany). I was wearing a tribal crop top I bought in Forever 21 at Albany (another memento) along with the lace bralette I showed you in my last look. The lace up heels that you have also seen in a bunch of my looks are from Charlotte Russe and the Hat is from American Eagle Outfitters, which I actually only used for the pictures since hanging out with it in this heat is not very practical. Well, enjoy this look and keep on shining Sequin Visioners! Hello again dear readers! I'm so happy to show you an outfit I had been waiting to wear to an exciting night out. The main part of the look is this pair of printed shorts with lace details from Bad Fashion For Bad People, a boutique and online shop I heard about for a while and finally got to see for myself this summer. The same day I brought these shorts home I also purchased this bicycle from a garage sale, but don't worry I didn't get it just for show, I've actually taken it for a few spins around the beach and a great park I have near home. I wore the shorts with a silky tank top on top of a romantic bralette from Forever 21 and a pair of beige sandals from Valija Gitana. I took this look for a spin without the bike to a night out with my friend Natasha. We went to a very edgy place in Santurce called La Respuesta, where music, art, and fashionable people meet. After watching the live art and live band Natasha and I also enjoyed some traditional Puerto Rican fun, which means going to a chinchorro, having a beer, dancing a little salsa and playing some pool (by this time my legs were hurting and so was my confidence to play with her) so I just watched that part. I always worry about wasting a good outfit on a bad night, but that definitely did not happen and I'm so glad it didn't. I'm so grateful for having such a good friend. Here's and oldie but a goodie. I wore this look while staying with my friends Ana and Viviana at El Conquistador Resort at the end of May (I can't believe it's already July) and I decided to finally post it because at first I didn't like the pictures, but I guess now I do. That's just the way I am and have been especially since I got back from studying abroad, a crazy mind changing machine. Up to recently the changes were only going on in my mind because I didn't have the courage to make them a reality, but as I mentioned in my last post I started focusing more on bettering myself through healthy decisions, not just for my body. One big decision I just made is to be alone (yes, that means I'm single). Of course it wasn't easy leaving such a big part of my life behind, but I felt I had to if a truly wanted to enjoy all that life has to offer me especially in my 20's. What I had was real love and nothing is going to change that or make me forget it, but the experiences I've had so far have made me realize I wasn't truly happy and I was not going to be able to love until I had a chance to get to know and love myself first. I know this might all sound "cursi" as we say in Spanish, but I can tell it's how many people my age must feel. So there you have a reflexive post for all you single girls and all of you who are afraid to be. I'm alive! I know I've been M.I.A. from the blogosphere for too long and even though I had my reasons, I could not keep you all in the dark any longer. I have been back from my travels for almost a month now and everything I've been doing has been only for selfish me. I've been taking summer classes to catch up on my studies, I got a job as a waitress at a new restaurant in San Juan called Rosa Mexicano, I've been remodeling my room especially the closet (which I hope to share with you when I finish), and I've been working really hard to get back in shape as my experience abroad brought on quite a few pounds on me, which is honestly one of the reasons I haven't wanted to post pictures of myself here. I finally found the courage to show you this outfit I wore recently to have sushi with Texi. The top is actually from a pajama I bought at Forever 21 in Albany, the skort and blazer are from PacSun, the purse is from Wet Seal, and the shoes are Charlotte Russe. You can never go wrong with an all black and white look, and if it's too boring you can always mix some prints like I did here with the stripes and animal print, which went purrrfectly with the Gato theme. Enjoy fellow readers and I hope to see what you think. Three days after returning to reality from Albany I left for a short and fun trip to Denver, Colorado with Texi to visit his cousin Tito, so I didn't quite get my feet on the ground of my home island yet. Denver really seems like a cool place to live in, but the multiple tornado warnings I got once I arrived (apparently they're very rare in the city except when I'm there) did not help in making me want to live there. I still enjoyed riding a bike everywhere (although I was in bad shape for it), especially to all the cool breweries. I also went hiking (yup, more exercise) at Staunton State Park, which was beautiful yet scary because of a thunder storm that appeared out of nowhere. Now I can add Denver to my list of awesome places I've seen in America this year. I'm so grateful to have traveled to New York, Boston, Montreal, and Miami and I hope to see so much more, but first I'm going to have to work for it one look at a time of course! Here are two pieces that have stuck with me throughout some of the best times of this study abroad experience. The first is the sheer white top from H&M that I love wearing with a delicate white lace bralette from Victoria's Secret. I've worn this top in NYC with my vintage high wasted shorts and to give it some edge and stay warm I used my Dollhouse motto jacket. Here I wore it with another H&M item that I can't stop showing off especially now in spring, a black and white daisy printed skirt. You also saw the skirt in my previous look from NYC. Apart from those two key pieces, there are two new items here that I am simply addicted to as well. The boyfriend jean jacket you see is from Garage (a store I'm going to have to demand they bring to PR) and the ugly sandals, I mean Birkenstocks are Steve Madden. Not only do I love the shoes for being so strange (as I always say here: it's fashion, look it up!), but they will forever be a memento of this time I've spent here with the most amazing international friends I will ever make. Unfortunately this experience is about to come to an end so I'm enjoying every minute of fun I have left, meaning I'm neglecting my blog a bit. It will all be worth it anyway, because when I come back I will be so inspired to share all that I have learned and how I've grown as a person. I'm back from another trip to NYC, and this one was the best one yet! I am now 100% sure I'm in love with the city and I belong there. Here is the outfit I wore on Sunday, which I spent in Williamsburg with my Swedish friend Emma who took these beautiful pictures. Later that night I was also fortunate enough to watch my first baseball game (and it was actually an exciting one) where the Yankees (my team of course) beat the Red Sox! I wore a daisy print skirt from H&M, crop top and hat from Forever 21, parka from Charlotte Russe, Converse sneakers, and the most beautiful Kate Spade purse. I didn't think I could fall in love with a purse, but this one is perfect for so many reasons, and I must say this is the first of many I will want to buy from that brand. I definitely recommend getting a small purse with a bold print or color for spring, it really is more versatile to wear than most people think, and it adds so much fun to any outfit. More looks from my trip will show up as soon I take the appropriate pictures so keep in touch with Sequin Vision ;) It's Spring, finally! You know what that means: shorts! Here is a night out look that can help anyone transition from winter with the use of the indispensable motto jacket. While I was wearing such a classic yet bad ass piece I just had to pair it with a very classy button down shirt from Ann Taylor and the cutest pleather bow tie from Valija Gitana that you saw on my "Classy Hillbilly" look. The denim shorts are actual vintage ones from Ouna's Closet, and since its still not warm enough to completely bare my legs and I wanted to make the look even edgier I wore sheer black tights with lace up ankle boots from Charlotte Russe. I actually wore this look a while back ago to a rarely warm night in Albany in which I celebrated one of my international friend's birthday. Only one cool picture was taken that night so I took the liberty of asking the same person who took it to help me do a mini photo shoot for this blog post. I have to give credit to Beatrice Bonetti, a truly awesome Italian friend and now photographer :) Enjoy the pictures and style inspiration. I'm back from being MIA because of Spring Break! I'm actually kind of sad about it since I enjoyed it so much and for a while I felt back in Puerto Rico or in Summer (yeah I'm a little homesick). Today I have two looks in one for you, which are perfect for the transition to spring. I bought the dress in my first trip to NYC at Zara on sale and now I can't help thinking it will have so much sentimental value because of the fun I've had wearing it in Albany and Miami. For the first look I used the dress as a skirt by wearing a PacSun sweater I bought before leaving P.R. . This not only changed up the look and made it more casual, it also kept me warmer. I wore the dress with tights and boots from Charlotte Russe in Albany, but in Miami I made the look more party worthy by loosing the sweater, the tights, and wearing it with a nice pair of lace up heels. This look would not be finished without red lips and nails to match of course. I'm having such an incredible experience out here, it is hard not to have mixed feelings about going home or not. For now I will just have to enjoy every moment one outfit at a time. Enjoy! |
