If you have been overwhelmed by all the tartan that has been showing up on the street style scene, this look is not for you, but if you’re feeling that Holiday spirit and you have been dying for a casual look that goes with it, then yes this is for you. I wore this look to see Thor 2 with Texi last week, which was great. I wore a new tartan shirt I bought recently at T.J. Max a long with my vintage high waisted denim shorts from Ouna’s Closet. The other new piece here, which you saw in my look “Make it short” is the red purse from Aldo. Finally, to complete the look I wore my studded ankle boots from Zara, only this time I decided to try a trend I’ve been seeing around, which is wearing ankle boots with ankle-dress socks. The pair I’m wearing is actually for men, but I think I pulled it off. Now I just need to get some gray ones that might look even better, what do you think? I would love to see what thoughts you have on this trend, you can comment here or go to my facebook page. Don’t forget to follow on Bloglovin’, Instagram, and Twitter too!

As you may already know, this Friday Novemeber 22nd was my 21st birthday. I guess you can say I’m an adult now that I am able to drink in cruise ships and in the U.S., but besides the change in my hair, I feel almost exactly the same. I’m not that surprised, since every birthday I feel like I will go through some life changing event, and the reality is that I always remain the same person. Don’t get me wrong, some changes have happened, but they’re not overnight. Now, without further a do, I present to you my official birthday look, even though I actually wore it the day before to celebrate with my parents and Texi at an amazing restaurant called 1919 in the Vanderbilt Hotel at Condado. I was wearing a Zara top with quilted leather shoulders that have a Star Trek feeling, but to me it was more of a badass futuristic biker feeling. I paired it with the Bebe pencil skirt that you saw on my Tartan-tastic look, and the new lace up heels I got at Charlotte Russe. I also used my Blanca purse from Shoedazzle, which is always a good choice. Here you can see the subtle ombré I mentioned in my last post, which I bet is going to be very trendy right now. I decided this was my official birthday look since the rest of the weekend I was dressed down relaxing at the beach house with my friends. It was an amazing weekend, and I am so happy I was able to share this with so many great people. Next up is the celebration with my whole family at Thanksgiving. Surprise! This is the change I was referring to on my last post. I had decided for my birthday to make a bold change, and not only does it look more chic but hopefully it will restore my hair, which was becoming weak and unhealthy. You can’t see it here, but I added a subtle ombré to the new cut since I had gotten rid of the one I had, and I can’t wait to show it off here. This look you see here is what I wore last Saturday, which was the day I actually made the hair change. I was wearing a very cute lipstick print top and striped sweater from T.J. Max I recently got, along with a pair of jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters, Payless red pumps, and an amazing red purse I bought that very same day from Aldo on sale. To finish the look I obviously had to match with red lips, and the hair was already perfectly styled. Later that night I went out with Texi and got some very much needed beers. It was very good day, now all I need is an even more amazing birthday, which is tomorrow. Enjoy! Yes I named this look after the most annoying and popular song of the moment. Even thought it's annoying it is a fun song just like this sweater from Old Navy, which matched perfectly with a fuchsia button down shirt I had. Wearing shirts under sweaters is a fall trend even Puerto Ricans cannot deny in spite of the warm weather all year long. That's the advantage of working in a cold office. To make this look even more fun I paired the sweater with a pair of polka dots pants and pointed toe pumps from Charlotte Russe. I went even farther to match the sweater by wearing a pair of cat eye sunglasses from Forever 21 too. Obviously the main piece here is this fox sweater, which I have noticed a few people around the office have it and it practically sold out from Old Navy. I usually don't like to buy pieces that are too on trend (if more than one person I know has it or even a stranger), but I also like the challenge of styling it better than others. I do believe I succeeded in styling this piece, since I got quite a few compliments and the I was asked the newly famous question, and of course, I answered "ring ding ding ding ding di ding..." (you might know the rest) If you have been following my blog you probably know by now that one of my favorite colors is neon (if you're not following you should!). I love the way it can make you stand out and that it is perfectly suited for the colorful tropical-ness of my little Island. This look right here is actually from before the week of San Juan Moda, and I wore this to work. The great thing about a business casual dress code is there is still room for creativity, and this day was a particularly creative day. I was wearing a very cute fan printed dress from Marshall's with tights to make it proper, the neon sweater is from Ann Taylor Loft, the black lace up boots are from Charlotte Russe, and the bag (which you have probably gotten tired of) is from Aldo. These pictures were actually taken right outside the building were I work by a fellow coworker and photographer Gabriel using my Nokia Lumia 1020 (amazing right?). I really love how the picture shows a mixture of nature and the city. I also enjoyed the angle Gabriel used (he'll be hearing from me soon for more pictures!). Hope you all enjoy these pictures too, and don't forget to follow all that is Sequin Vision on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook! Gotta love those casual Fridays! This look right here is a work look believe it or not, because it was the greatest day of the week. This was actually two weeks ago, but better late than never right? I was wearing Aéropostale plaid shirt and boyfriend jeans, a long with my new shoes from Shoedazzle which you saw part of in my look "Clarity". I've been wearing a Gucci watch I found at my grandmother's and the same few accessories lately so you can see those here as well, you can also see the aviators from American Eagle Outfitters and my Miyata bag from Aldo. These pictures were taken with my new Lumia 1020 phone, and can you tell how much better they are from the ones my Nikon camera takes? Only problem is, I'm gonna need to buy some space here for these huge pictures (so worth it). I have another huge announcement, which you can see in my other post of today, so go check that out too! Enjoy! When I wear something as simple as this dress it's when I feel the most chic and at the same time the most comfortable. I wore this about two weeks ago (i know the post was really overdue) for a Monday at work, which I have turned into my dress wearing days to have something to look forward to besides waking up at 6:00 a.m. to be an hour in traffic. The dress is Rachel Roy and I got it at an awesome sale Macy's had a few weeks ago, I am really liking all of her designs. The shoes are pretty old, they are from Baker's and they were a birthday gift. The purse, which you've seen in quite a lot of my looks is one of my favorites from Shoedazzle. With this simple chic look I decided to wear simple accessories and makeup too. Enjoy! Hello again fellow readers! Here's another quick look from last weekend. I wore this to see Riddick with Texi on Sunday. The biker jacket, which I was so desperate to wear, is new from Marshall's, the dress is another thrift item from my grandmother's, and the studded ankle boots are from Zara. I was also wearing my Shame by Urban Decay lipstick, which I am so obsessed with. Ever since I got this jacket I knew I wanted to pair it with a girly dress, so the pink paisley print and the ruffles made this one a perfect choice. There are so many more ways to wear this jacket, I just wish the weather wasn't so hot so I could wear it more often. I'll show you another look with it soon, in the mean time enjoy this one! Ready for a really vintage look? Here it is: A floral baby doll dress from Ouna's Closet (which I got for an amazing sale they were having), Converse sneakers, round sunglasses, an awesome necklace with a tiny jar filled with tiny pearls from Forever 21, and my most recent purchase from Sephora: Shame lipstick by Urban Decay, hence the name for this post. I wore this to a Rock Band party with Texi and the rest of the gang. It was a lot of fun, it had been a while since I played Rock Band, but it had also been a while since I had a full night's sleep so I went to bed earlier than everyone else (it was 2:00 a.m. though) Anyway I think the dilapidated background I used for this look was perfect for a vintage look, so I hope you like it. I also want to know what you think of the lipstick, because you will probably see it in more looks to come! Hey fellow Sequin Visioners! I bet you are thinking I've gone grunge since I've posted a couple of looks wearing plaid shirts, and the last look with the denim overalls from Nasty Gal was the grungiest yet. The only things missing to have a complete look for that trend are all in this one: Converse sneakers, a perfect pair of vintage high waisted denim cut-off shorts from Ouna's Closet, and a top that says it all with "90's Kid" from Charlotte Russe. The plaid shirt from Aéropostale was on my look "Let it be" and the sunglasses have also been seen in other looks of mine. I wore this on Tuesday for the first day of my new semester at Sagrado, which is filled with all sorts of changes now that I added a minor in Digital Journalism and started a full time job at Aon Hewitt as a Customer Service Representative for which I had to change all my classes to night sections. Another change (although not that dramatic) is my hair, which is now with a lighter ombré and redish highlights. The first day of training for my new job was this Thusday, and even though I am little nervous about how hectic this semester is going to be I am really liking this new job. I hope you enjoy this look and I look forward to keep posting even with the new busy schedule. |
