Yes! I finally made it to New York City and right when Fashion Week started, but being my first time in this magical place I did not see anything related to the event. In fact, I might have been near a show and not even know about it. I feel kind of guilty that I did not even try to see the event, but at the same time I feel I had no choice since I wanted to see much more before that. My friend Beni and I did see a lot in just two days and we are really proud of that. These pictures are from the first day, Friday February 7th. Our first stop was Central Park, which had become a Winter Wonderland and that made us love it even more. I was wearing a striped top from Banana Republic, with ripped jeans from Kmart, ankle boots from Zara, and coat and scarf from one of my grandmother's closet and the furry hat is from another grandmother (grannies are great!). After that we walked through Fifth Avenue until we found The Empire State Building. We had gotten there just in time for the sunset and it truly was an amazing site. The night ended with great eats and drinks at The Village, and boy was it fun! Enjoy the pictures, and in the next post you can expect more of my adventures in N.Y.C.

Snow really does make for a great backdrop. These pictures were taken last week by yet another friend I've made in the exchange program, Clifford. This was right outside the dorms I was living in, but now I've moved somewhere more modern (maybe not as beautiful outside) and more comfortable. I was wearing and all white outfit (as always matchy matchy, this time with the snow) combining a sweater I bought right before leaving to Albany at J.C. Penney with a pair of floral printed jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, and lace up boots from Charlotte Russe. To top the white outfit off (and look cuter) I wore white earmuffs I bought at Crossgates Mall and a pair of vintage hand made mittens from my grandmother's closet. I'm really excited about the next post, which is about The City (yes that's right, N.Y.C.) so stay tuned and enjoy! Superbowl Sunday is what this look was for, and the reason for the name is because I was rooting for Broncos of course. I got inspired not to dress up in fan wear (since I'm not really a football fan or own any jerseys), but at least I wanted to look sporty in some way. I wore a cool geek sweater from Marshall's I bought just before leaving Puerto Rico, a pair of burgundy jeggings from Wallmart (the place where I have done the most shopping since I got here), boots from Charlotte Russe, and an animal print satchel from Wet Seal. It wasn't that cold on Sunday so to stay just warm enough I wore the Guess coat Texi gave me for Christmas and a really nice Coach scarf that his mother let me take here. I have to give my Italian friend Beni all the credit for these pictures and the ones from my previous posts as well. Not only did she take fashionable photos, but also she takes the funniest ones as you can see from the last two here. Even though my team lost on Sunday I still had an amazing time and I even got to see the Harlem Globetrotters that day too! Enjoy this look and expect and even better one after this. Hello again fellow readers, this time from Albany, New York! I can't believe I'm saying that, but yes I'm really here and it has been a great week filled with new adventures like getting lost and making friends from all over the world. Even though I am already here I still had one look from Puerto Rico pending and it is kind of a transition look from the hot weather there to the cold one here because of the rhinestone jumper from Old Navy, which you saw in a previous look of mine. Under the jumper I wore my coveted Zara slip dress that is actually the only dress I brought with me and I hope to be able to wear it. I also wore my Charlotte Russe lace up boots and a great new clutch from Wet seal with a cute grip that says love. I wore this on a dinner date with Texi, who is back home and I miss so much already. Until the next look, enjoy! Even though I just had a day of having everything going not the way I wanted, I feel that I am starting this year quite right because of my blog and the adventure I'm about to have in New York. It still feels unreal to me, but I know that once I'm sitting in that plane I'll know how real it is. In the meantime I'm gonna show you another look I might not be able to wear once I'm there in the cold. I wore this look to a Pre Magic King's Day party at a friend's house. The jewel printed top is from Banana Republic, the jeans are the ones you've seen before from Kmart only this time they are even more ripped, the cobalt shoes are from La Defensa, the aviators are from American Eagle Outfitters, and the brown quilted purse is from Lulu. I accessorized a little more than I usually do this time by using the cute vintage pendant necklace my grandmother gave me, the Armitron watch my boyfriend's parents gave me and some golden colored bracelets along with a cool arrow ring from Aldo. Enjoy1 Hello again fellow readers! I hope you all had a great Christmas. Here is another holiday look, but not a traditional one as you can see. I wore this to another party on the country side, and I could not decide whether to look more country-ish or holiday classy so I tried both. The overalls are from Nasty Gal, the button down shirt is from Ann Taylor, the pleather bow tie is from Valija Gitana, and the black pumps are from PacSun. I know this is a strange look that not everyone likes or can pull off, but as you might have seen in my previous looks, every now and then I like to take risks like this, and no one should be afraid to do the same because, after all, that is what fashion is all about to me. I hope this inspires others to be fearless fashionistas. Enjoy! To celebrate the finale of this semester, I present to you a look I was so eager to show, but could not due to all the last minute projects and exams. I wore this to work as most of my looks, and to make it work appropriate I wore the boyfriend checkered shirt from American Eagle Outfitters as a cover up. For some this look might be too busy with the plaid and the checks together, but I thought it was the perfect risk to take and make an awesome combination. What I kept in mind when I combined these two pieces were the colors, which those did match perfectly, other than the many many lines on the prints. I've seen this trending as well, so I could not help trying it because of that. Another trend I love and used here is matching a pencil skirt, this one is my first purchase from Asos and I got it at a steal, with a crop top, which is from Charlotte Russe. I could not help using the shoes of the moment either, which are these lace up heels from Charlotte Russe as well. To finish up the look I added a pop of color on the lips with my Urban Decay lipstick in the shade perfectly named "Anarchy". As always, I hope you enjoy this look and get some inspiration to try it. It would not hurt to get inspired to follow the blog and social media as well ;) Happy Holidays fellow readers! My favorite time of the year has finally begun, and I am so excited to share with you all the looks that make this season so great. It might not be cold enough in Puerto Rico to wear chic coats or play with a lot of layering, but there are still all the events that require awesome fashion since we do have an exaggerated amount of celebrations here. Today, I am showing a work look that can also be great for one of these events and also uses the most popular color of this season which is burgundy. The star of this look is definitely the burgundy skirt with laser cut details, which I recently bought a long with a few new items you’ve seen in my previous looks at T.J. Max. Pencil skirts and peplum tops are a great combination, and I made this pair even better by using a top from Charlotte Russe with laser cut details as well. Finally I had to accessorize with my Shoedazzle burgundy beauties, and my Aldo Miyata bag. Oh and I almost forgot, this look would not be complete without a pair of dark lips, which is also an accessory that is very in this season. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend, who wouldn’t with all the good food and all the shopping right? Well, that was my case, and I can’t wait to show everything I got. For now, you can get some holiday fashion inspiration with this look, enjoy! If you have been overwhelmed by all the tartan that has been showing up on the street style scene, this look is not for you, but if you’re feeling that Holiday spirit and you have been dying for a casual look that goes with it, then yes this is for you. I wore this look to see Thor 2 with Texi last week, which was great. I wore a new tartan shirt I bought recently at T.J. Max a long with my vintage high waisted denim shorts from Ouna’s Closet. The other new piece here, which you saw in my look “Make it short” is the red purse from Aldo. Finally, to complete the look I wore my studded ankle boots from Zara, only this time I decided to try a trend I’ve been seeing around, which is wearing ankle boots with ankle-dress socks. The pair I’m wearing is actually for men, but I think I pulled it off. Now I just need to get some gray ones that might look even better, what do you think? I would love to see what thoughts you have on this trend, you can comment here or go to my facebook page. Don’t forget to follow on Bloglovin’, Instagram, and Twitter too! As you may already know, this Friday Novemeber 22nd was my 21st birthday. I guess you can say I’m an adult now that I am able to drink in cruise ships and in the U.S., but besides the change in my hair, I feel almost exactly the same. I’m not that surprised, since every birthday I feel like I will go through some life changing event, and the reality is that I always remain the same person. Don’t get me wrong, some changes have happened, but they’re not overnight. Now, without further a do, I present to you my official birthday look, even though I actually wore it the day before to celebrate with my parents and Texi at an amazing restaurant called 1919 in the Vanderbilt Hotel at Condado. I was wearing a Zara top with quilted leather shoulders that have a Star Trek feeling, but to me it was more of a badass futuristic biker feeling. I paired it with the Bebe pencil skirt that you saw on my Tartan-tastic look, and the new lace up heels I got at Charlotte Russe. I also used my Blanca purse from Shoedazzle, which is always a good choice. Here you can see the subtle ombré I mentioned in my last post, which I bet is going to be very trendy right now. I decided this was my official birthday look since the rest of the weekend I was dressed down relaxing at the beach house with my friends. It was an amazing weekend, and I am so happy I was able to share this with so many great people. Next up is the celebration with my whole family at Thanksgiving. |
