The Road to Happiness is here in Puerto Rico, but it is better known as the 413 road in Rincón, the town of surfers and perma-vacationers like my parents are becoming. My father has always dreamed of retiring in this place and he is getting closer and closer to achieving that dream. After spending many times in beautiful rented houses, my parents have finally bought their own, and that's where I spent the only days off I had for spring break. Sadly the weather was not like the rest of the week, the whole way there it rained, and while we were there it was mostly cloudy and it rained intermittently. At least we were able to enjoy a few rays of sun, but the days were never good enough to take some pictures. So in an effort to not disappoint my readers ( I did promise more beach pictures), here are pictures that I should have posted a long time ago from a day I spent at Rincón during December. I was wearing my favorite beach cover up, which is a striped jumpsuit with embroidered details from Forever 21, thanks to my friend (and stylist) Ana for finding it for me. I thought the whole scenery of these pictures were great and the last one of the sunset is another aspect Rincón is known for. Hopefully I'll have another chance to go back there and do a great photo shoot. For now enjoy these!

You might not notice it much in these pictures, but I got my ombré hair revamped yesterday thanks to my hair guru, Javi at Beauté Salon. He tried this new technique in which instead of teasing the hair before coloring it, he just added subtle highlights until reaching the tips. It feels so good to finally treating my hair, making it look shiny and new. It feels so good I couldn't wait until the weekend to show it off here. This is actually the look I'm wearing right know to go to the movies with my best friend Ana, and maybe do a little shopping too. It is a very casual look thanks to my Kmart pants, which have this weird fit that is almost like the boyfriend jeans, but not quite. They still look great even for a bargain, and now I feel even better in them after the amazing workouts I've been doing at the gym (Beach, here I come!). Another unbelievable bargain you see here is the pair of neon pointy toe pumps from Marshall's, which are BCBG Max Azria, and I got them for only seven dollars. I matched these with the neon spikes necklace from Valija Gitana that you have seen in my Neon Pop and Electric Feel looks. Finally to match the spikes and have a nice color contrast I wore the mint muscle tee with the spikes on the shoulders from Zara. I guess I"ll never get tired of adding the same amount of neon pop into these looks. I hope you don't get tired of them too. Enjoy!
Yesterday was my grandfather's birthday, and my family tradition is to celebrate these occasions in the beach house at Vega Baja, which is a beautiful strange beach as you can see in these pictures. It's strange because of all the mysterious rock formations to me. Even though it doesn't have the same amazing sunset as in the west side of the island, the sky looks beautiful in this beach and the way the sun shines on the rocks is also a sight. The name of this look is inspired by the song of the band The Verve, which is perfect for any ending, whether for a movie like Cruel Intentions or a perfect day like this. I was wearing Seven by Lu high waisted shorts, and the high low pink top, and the gold bracelets are from Charlotte Russe. Expect more beach pics to come, since this is my spring break week and summer keeps getting closer and closer.
Hello fellow readers! Here's a look I've been longing to post because it's inspiration is from one of my favorite bands. I actually wore this a couple of weeks ago to class with my black combat boots instead of the Lita boots you see here. The bustier you have seen before in my look Atraversiamo is from Charlotte Russe, the top and the leggings are from Forever 21 and the Jeffrey Campbell inspired boots you have also seen before are from iOffer. This post won't have to many details on it, but now you also know which song of Guns N' Roses is my favorite (hint: it's in the title). Enjoy!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Sorry for the no green on this look, but it's not from today anyway. I wore this to work yesterday and as you can see I tried the dutch crown braid again, only this time a little bit messier and more like a headband than a crown. And if you've seen Frida Kahlo you know why this is the name of the look. All that's missing is a uni brow and a flower crown. What I wore was a new maxi dress from Charlotte Russe with an amazing skull design in the back. The gold accessories are also from Charlotte Russe, the purse is vintage from my grandmother's closet, and the wedges are from Lola, which you might have seen here. I also wore this look to class on Tuesday, only with sandals instead of the wedges. It's such a comfy look no matter the shoes, and perfect for this time of year. I hope you enjoy this look, and the St. Patrick's day look is coming soon! Here's a closer look of the hair and makeup:
For all of you enjoying spring, here's another floral look that I hope you'll like, not just because of the colors and the print, but the hair and make up, which also screams spring time! This was the first time I ever tried the dutch crown braid and I am very proud of myself, but I did not do it alone of course. I looked up the how-to on Youtube (thank goodness for this!) and it wasn't easy, but I think I aced it. Now I would like to try different versions of it, maybe a little bit more messy or make it look more like a headband. Don't worry you'll see them in the next looks. For now the floral top and pair of lilac pants I was wearing are from Forever 21, and the lovely oxblood heels, which you might have seen before, are from my favorite online shoe shop, Shoedazzle (they should seriously think about advertising with me ;) ) In the next picture you'll be able to see the hair and makeup closely, thanks to my mother for taking the close-up. As you can see the makeup is very natural, I used only mascara on my eyes, the basics: concealer and bronzer, in addition to the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin, and Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in 160 Fifth Ave. Fuchsia. One of my favorite aspects about colorful prints such as floral, is that there are so many ways to match those colors around the whole outfit, including the makeup (of course, without looking like a rainbow). If you have any comments, even ways to make this look better I would gladly appreciate them!
Get ready for another very spring look. I wore this to work on Friday, and since the dress looked so delicate I did my hair and makeup just as girly and delicate with pink cheeks, nude lips, simple eyes with eyeliner only on top, and the fun bun with the upside down french braid like the one here. The dress and the white cuff are from Charlotte Russe, the Jeffrey Campbell inspired Lita boots you also saw in my last look are from iOffer.com, and the cute little rose earrings are from Aeropostale. Enjoy this look and enjoy spring!
Thank God is Saturday! Why not Friday? Well yesterday I was still working on project from class, so today I can finally relax. This look is actually from Wednesday, just another regular day of class. I was wearing new American Eagle Outfitters jeans in with an amazing floral print that looks as if it was from the wash of the jeans. I got the jeans at Marshall's for a steal. It feels great to wear quality clothes that you got for a bargain doesn't it? The jean moto style vest is from a brand called Love Riche and I also got it at Marshall's. The shoes you might have seen them before in my "I want you to stay" look. They are the Jeffrey Campbell inspired lita lace up boots that I had fallen madly in love with (don't tell my boyfriend ok?) For a while I have been craving to wear a denim on denim look, these jeans are perfect for that, not just with the vest, but also with a Chambray top. Until the next look, enjoy this one!
Another Lana Del Rey inspired look, all that's missing is the giant flower crown. I wore this to work on Monday and the whole outfit is from Charlotte Russe, except for the tights from Romwe. You've probably noticed all the tropicalness in my photos. I keep finding these great backdrops filled with plants in my backyard; people might start to think that I live in a jungle if I keep this up, but it's spring so get ready for more. Since the whole outfit was black, white and grey I decided to try that effect on the whole picture. I was also inspired to play with the black and white to make it look like those old 50's detective shows where the blinds create such mysterious shadows in an office, only this time instead of blinds creating shadows, it was the palm tree outside. I'm not much of a photographer, but I definitely like to get creative. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Finally! A day at the beach. I had been longing for one since December. The day was perfect with not a single cloud in that huge blue sky. I went to Ocean Park beach with Texi and a few of our friends and spent the whole day there until sunset, that's how much fun we had. Later we went to get the most amazing burgers at Buns (you might have seen what I had in my Instagram) These pictures were taken by one of my friends, Stella and boy did she do such a great job that I posted almost all of them. If you haven't been to Puerto Rico I hope this inspires you to take a trip here, especially now for spring break would be perfect. Enjoy!
