It's Spring, finally! You know what that means: shorts! Here is a night out look that can help anyone transition from winter with the use of the indispensable motto jacket. While I was wearing such a classic yet bad ass piece I just had to pair it with a very classy button down shirt from Ann Taylor and the cutest pleather bow tie from Valija Gitana that you saw on my "Classy Hillbilly" look. The denim shorts are actual vintage ones from Ouna's Closet, and since its still not warm enough to completely bare my legs and I wanted to make the look even edgier I wore sheer black tights with lace up ankle boots from Charlotte Russe. I actually wore this look a while back ago to a rarely warm night in Albany in which I celebrated one of my international friend's birthday. Only one cool picture was taken that night so I took the liberty of asking the same person who took it to help me do a mini photo shoot for this blog post. I have to give credit to Beatrice Bonetti, a truly awesome Italian friend and now photographer :) Enjoy the pictures and style inspiration.

Hey fellow readers! Here I give you my first look for NYC this past weekend, where I met up with Texi finally! I was too busy squeezing him so I did not take any pictures the night he arrived, except for one of him eating the biggest pizza slice I've ever seen. So I took the pictures for the outfit basically now in the back of my building again. I wore this Célfie T-shirt I've had for a while now, but finally got the chance to combine it with this great vintage faux fur coat from my grandmother's closet, and another borrowed item: my boyfriends check shirt. I was also wearing the pleather pants from Forever 21 you've seen a billion times already, and my new white Converse sneakers (I didn't even have to say they're new, just look at how white they are). I had an incredible time with Texi in the city, and I'm going to share more about this on the next post, obviously with all the looks which were all with the same coat, but hey you can get some ideas on how to pack light for cold weather trips. Enjoy this one for now! Here's a look that was a little overdue. I wore this on Saturday February 15th on a night out after a very cool day of skiing. I was wearing the Zara lace slip dress you saw in my last look from Puerto Rico this time with tights obviously because of the cold. Over the dress I wore an Ann Taylor sweater with a color that is really beautiful and matched perfectly with an oversized vintage tribal scarf from my grandmother's closet. If you have been keeping up with my Instagram you probably noticed I was in Montreal this past weekend with my friends Beni and Bea. It was truly another amazing experience I can add to what I've lived while on the exchange program this semester. This next weekend will be an even better one because I will be able to share this type of experience with Texi. I'm so excited! Until next week then, enjoy! Time passes even quicker in The City as you walk by the tall buildings, the lights, the stores, the people, and you don't realize that maybe you've done miles of it. This was the look for day 3 of my trip to N.Y.C., which was too short unfortunately. I wore a very pink turtle neck sweater from my grandmother's closet with pleather pants from Forever 21, ankle boots from Zara, and the most matching hat that I bought as a souvenir. The day started with another great breakfast at Greenwich Village, then the shopping started. Before we knew it it was time to head back to Albany. I cannot wait to come back to this place, it really felt magical to me. I know it might seem exaggerated, but being a movie buff like me you would understand that when you go to a place you've only seen in the big screen you just feel like you're in your own film, and that is magical. Until the next trip or the next look, enjoy! Yes! I finally made it to New York City and right when Fashion Week started, but being my first time in this magical place I did not see anything related to the event. In fact, I might have been near a show and not even know about it. I feel kind of guilty that I did not even try to see the event, but at the same time I feel I had no choice since I wanted to see much more before that. My friend Beni and I did see a lot in just two days and we are really proud of that. These pictures are from the first day, Friday February 7th. Our first stop was Central Park, which had become a Winter Wonderland and that made us love it even more. I was wearing a striped top from Banana Republic, with ripped jeans from Kmart, ankle boots from Zara, and coat and scarf from one of my grandmother's closet and the furry hat is from another grandmother (grannies are great!). After that we walked through Fifth Avenue until we found The Empire State Building. We had gotten there just in time for the sunset and it truly was an amazing site. The night ended with great eats and drinks at The Village, and boy was it fun! Enjoy the pictures, and in the next post you can expect more of my adventures in N.Y.C. Last week was surely one the coldest with temperatures of single digit numbers, but this vintage faux fur coat I wore not only looked warm, it was! Here I was trying to go for a look resembling Margot Tenenbaum, if you didn't notice with my hair parted to the side and the eyeliner. I made it look a little more modern preppy by mixing the animal print of the PacSun sweater with a striped button down shirt underneath from Marshall's. I kept it comfortable and warm with jeans and a pair of high boots from Charlotte Russe. Being "inspired" by the cold weather (really I just want to stay warm), the fur, and the woodsy area of UAlbany's campus I decided to name this look after my favorite song of the moment "Dirty Paws" by Of Monsters and Men. Enjoy! Get ready for some real winter looks from now on! Here is the first look I wore to Albany, New York where I will be studying in SUNY's international student program. I wore a plaid shirt from Aéropostale underneath a burgundy cable knit sweater from J.C. Penney, a burgundy coat from my grandmother's closet (the best!), a matching scarf to add a little more color variation, and a pair of pleather pants from Forever 21 a long with the boots from Zara that have gotten me noticed here not only because of their awesome detail but also because of how I have slipped with them in the icy floors and sidewalks. It has been an incredible first week here because there is so much to do with really great people from all over the world. If you want to stay updated on all things Sequin Vision here in Albany it's best to not only follow the blog, but also follow me on Instagram. Enjoy my not so warm welcome to Albany. Hello again fellow readers, this time from Albany, New York! I can't believe I'm saying that, but yes I'm really here and it has been a great week filled with new adventures like getting lost and making friends from all over the world. Even though I am already here I still had one look from Puerto Rico pending and it is kind of a transition look from the hot weather there to the cold one here because of the rhinestone jumper from Old Navy, which you saw in a previous look of mine. Under the jumper I wore my coveted Zara slip dress that is actually the only dress I brought with me and I hope to be able to wear it. I also wore my Charlotte Russe lace up boots and a great new clutch from Wet seal with a cute grip that says love. I wore this on a dinner date with Texi, who is back home and I miss so much already. Until the next look, enjoy! Even though I just had a day of having everything going not the way I wanted, I feel that I am starting this year quite right because of my blog and the adventure I'm about to have in New York. It still feels unreal to me, but I know that once I'm sitting in that plane I'll know how real it is. In the meantime I'm gonna show you another look I might not be able to wear once I'm there in the cold. I wore this look to a Pre Magic King's Day party at a friend's house. The jewel printed top is from Banana Republic, the jeans are the ones you've seen before from Kmart only this time they are even more ripped, the cobalt shoes are from La Defensa, the aviators are from American Eagle Outfitters, and the brown quilted purse is from Lulu. I accessorized a little more than I usually do this time by using the cute vintage pendant necklace my grandmother gave me, the Armitron watch my boyfriend's parents gave me and some golden colored bracelets along with a cool arrow ring from Aldo. Enjoy1 Hello again fellow readers! I hope you all had a great Christmas. Here is another holiday look, but not a traditional one as you can see. I wore this to another party on the country side, and I could not decide whether to look more country-ish or holiday classy so I tried both. The overalls are from Nasty Gal, the button down shirt is from Ann Taylor, the pleather bow tie is from Valija Gitana, and the black pumps are from PacSun. I know this is a strange look that not everyone likes or can pull off, but as you might have seen in my previous looks, every now and then I like to take risks like this, and no one should be afraid to do the same because, after all, that is what fashion is all about to me. I hope this inspires others to be fearless fashionistas. Enjoy! |
