Three days after returning to reality from Albany I left for a short and fun trip to Denver, Colorado with Texi to visit his cousin Tito, so I didn't quite get my feet on the ground of my home island yet. Denver really seems like a cool place to live in, but the multiple tornado warnings I got once I arrived (apparently they're very rare in the city except when I'm there) did not help in making me want to live there. I still enjoyed riding a bike everywhere (although I was in bad shape for it), especially to all the cool breweries. I also went hiking (yup, more exercise) at Staunton State Park, which was beautiful yet scary because of a thunder storm that appeared out of nowhere. Now I can add Denver to my list of awesome places I've seen in America this year. I'm so grateful to have traveled to New York, Boston, Montreal, and Miami and I hope to see so much more, but first I'm going to have to work for it one look at a time of course!

Here are two pieces that have stuck with me throughout some of the best times of this study abroad experience. The first is the sheer white top from H&M that I love wearing with a delicate white lace bralette from Victoria's Secret. I've worn this top in NYC with my vintage high wasted shorts and to give it some edge and stay warm I used my Dollhouse motto jacket. Here I wore it with another H&M item that I can't stop showing off especially now in spring, a black and white daisy printed skirt. You also saw the skirt in my previous look from NYC. Apart from those two key pieces, there are two new items here that I am simply addicted to as well. The boyfriend jean jacket you see is from Garage (a store I'm going to have to demand they bring to PR) and the ugly sandals, I mean Birkenstocks are Steve Madden. Not only do I love the shoes for being so strange (as I always say here: it's fashion, look it up!), but they will forever be a memento of this time I've spent here with the most amazing international friends I will ever make. Unfortunately this experience is about to come to an end so I'm enjoying every minute of fun I have left, meaning I'm neglecting my blog a bit. It will all be worth it anyway, because when I come back I will be so inspired to share all that I have learned and how I've grown as a person. I'm back from another trip to NYC, and this one was the best one yet! I am now 100% sure I'm in love with the city and I belong there. Here is the outfit I wore on Sunday, which I spent in Williamsburg with my Swedish friend Emma who took these beautiful pictures. Later that night I was also fortunate enough to watch my first baseball game (and it was actually an exciting one) where the Yankees (my team of course) beat the Red Sox! I wore a daisy print skirt from H&M, crop top and hat from Forever 21, parka from Charlotte Russe, Converse sneakers, and the most beautiful Kate Spade purse. I didn't think I could fall in love with a purse, but this one is perfect for so many reasons, and I must say this is the first of many I will want to buy from that brand. I definitely recommend getting a small purse with a bold print or color for spring, it really is more versatile to wear than most people think, and it adds so much fun to any outfit. More looks from my trip will show up as soon I take the appropriate pictures so keep in touch with Sequin Vision ;) It's Spring, finally! You know what that means: shorts! Here is a night out look that can help anyone transition from winter with the use of the indispensable motto jacket. While I was wearing such a classic yet bad ass piece I just had to pair it with a very classy button down shirt from Ann Taylor and the cutest pleather bow tie from Valija Gitana that you saw on my "Classy Hillbilly" look. The denim shorts are actual vintage ones from Ouna's Closet, and since its still not warm enough to completely bare my legs and I wanted to make the look even edgier I wore sheer black tights with lace up ankle boots from Charlotte Russe. I actually wore this look a while back ago to a rarely warm night in Albany in which I celebrated one of my international friend's birthday. Only one cool picture was taken that night so I took the liberty of asking the same person who took it to help me do a mini photo shoot for this blog post. I have to give credit to Beatrice Bonetti, a truly awesome Italian friend and now photographer :) Enjoy the pictures and style inspiration. I'm back from being MIA because of Spring Break! I'm actually kind of sad about it since I enjoyed it so much and for a while I felt back in Puerto Rico or in Summer (yeah I'm a little homesick). Today I have two looks in one for you, which are perfect for the transition to spring. I bought the dress in my first trip to NYC at Zara on sale and now I can't help thinking it will have so much sentimental value because of the fun I've had wearing it in Albany and Miami. For the first look I used the dress as a skirt by wearing a PacSun sweater I bought before leaving P.R. . This not only changed up the look and made it more casual, it also kept me warmer. I wore the dress with tights and boots from Charlotte Russe in Albany, but in Miami I made the look more party worthy by loosing the sweater, the tights, and wearing it with a nice pair of lace up heels. This look would not be finished without red lips and nails to match of course. I'm having such an incredible experience out here, it is hard not to have mixed feelings about going home or not. For now I will just have to enjoy every moment one outfit at a time. Enjoy! Time passes even quicker in The City as you walk by the tall buildings, the lights, the stores, the people, and you don't realize that maybe you've done miles of it. This was the look for day 3 of my trip to N.Y.C., which was too short unfortunately. I wore a very pink turtle neck sweater from my grandmother's closet with pleather pants from Forever 21, ankle boots from Zara, and the most matching hat that I bought as a souvenir. The day started with another great breakfast at Greenwich Village, then the shopping started. Before we knew it it was time to head back to Albany. I cannot wait to come back to this place, it really felt magical to me. I know it might seem exaggerated, but being a movie buff like me you would understand that when you go to a place you've only seen in the big screen you just feel like you're in your own film, and that is magical. Until the next trip or the next look, enjoy! Yes! I finally made it to New York City and right when Fashion Week started, but being my first time in this magical place I did not see anything related to the event. In fact, I might have been near a show and not even know about it. I feel kind of guilty that I did not even try to see the event, but at the same time I feel I had no choice since I wanted to see much more before that. My friend Beni and I did see a lot in just two days and we are really proud of that. These pictures are from the first day, Friday February 7th. Our first stop was Central Park, which had become a Winter Wonderland and that made us love it even more. I was wearing a striped top from Banana Republic, with ripped jeans from Kmart, ankle boots from Zara, and coat and scarf from one of my grandmother's closet and the furry hat is from another grandmother (grannies are great!). After that we walked through Fifth Avenue until we found The Empire State Building. We had gotten there just in time for the sunset and it truly was an amazing site. The night ended with great eats and drinks at The Village, and boy was it fun! Enjoy the pictures, and in the next post you can expect more of my adventures in N.Y.C. Superbowl Sunday is what this look was for, and the reason for the name is because I was rooting for Broncos of course. I got inspired not to dress up in fan wear (since I'm not really a football fan or own any jerseys), but at least I wanted to look sporty in some way. I wore a cool geek sweater from Marshall's I bought just before leaving Puerto Rico, a pair of burgundy jeggings from Wallmart (the place where I have done the most shopping since I got here), boots from Charlotte Russe, and an animal print satchel from Wet Seal. It wasn't that cold on Sunday so to stay just warm enough I wore the Guess coat Texi gave me for Christmas and a really nice Coach scarf that his mother let me take here. I have to give my Italian friend Beni all the credit for these pictures and the ones from my previous posts as well. Not only did she take fashionable photos, but also she takes the funniest ones as you can see from the last two here. Even though my team lost on Sunday I still had an amazing time and I even got to see the Harlem Globetrotters that day too! Enjoy this look and expect and even better one after this. To celebrate the finale of this semester, I present to you a look I was so eager to show, but could not due to all the last minute projects and exams. I wore this to work as most of my looks, and to make it work appropriate I wore the boyfriend checkered shirt from American Eagle Outfitters as a cover up. For some this look might be too busy with the plaid and the checks together, but I thought it was the perfect risk to take and make an awesome combination. What I kept in mind when I combined these two pieces were the colors, which those did match perfectly, other than the many many lines on the prints. I've seen this trending as well, so I could not help trying it because of that. Another trend I love and used here is matching a pencil skirt, this one is my first purchase from Asos and I got it at a steal, with a crop top, which is from Charlotte Russe. I could not help using the shoes of the moment either, which are these lace up heels from Charlotte Russe as well. To finish up the look I added a pop of color on the lips with my Urban Decay lipstick in the shade perfectly named "Anarchy". As always, I hope you enjoy this look and get some inspiration to try it. It would not hurt to get inspired to follow the blog and social media as well ;) Happy Holidays fellow readers! My favorite time of the year has finally begun, and I am so excited to share with you all the looks that make this season so great. It might not be cold enough in Puerto Rico to wear chic coats or play with a lot of layering, but there are still all the events that require awesome fashion since we do have an exaggerated amount of celebrations here. Today, I am showing a work look that can also be great for one of these events and also uses the most popular color of this season which is burgundy. The star of this look is definitely the burgundy skirt with laser cut details, which I recently bought a long with a few new items you’ve seen in my previous looks at T.J. Max. Pencil skirts and peplum tops are a great combination, and I made this pair even better by using a top from Charlotte Russe with laser cut details as well. Finally I had to accessorize with my Shoedazzle burgundy beauties, and my Aldo Miyata bag. Oh and I almost forgot, this look would not be complete without a pair of dark lips, which is also an accessory that is very in this season. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend, who wouldn’t with all the good food and all the shopping right? Well, that was my case, and I can’t wait to show everything I got. For now, you can get some holiday fashion inspiration with this look, enjoy! |
