Here are two pieces that have stuck with me throughout some of the best times of this study abroad experience. The first is the sheer white top from H&M that I love wearing with a delicate white lace bralette from Victoria's Secret. I've worn this top in NYC with my vintage high wasted shorts and to give it some edge and stay warm I used my Dollhouse motto jacket. Here I wore it with another H&M item that I can't stop showing off especially now in spring, a black and white daisy printed skirt. You also saw the skirt in my previous look from NYC. Apart from those two key pieces, there are two new items here that I am simply addicted to as well. The boyfriend jean jacket you see is from Garage (a store I'm going to have to demand they bring to PR) and the ugly sandals, I mean Birkenstocks are Steve Madden. Not only do I love the shoes for being so strange (as I always say here: it's fashion, look it up!), but they will forever be a memento of this time I've spent here with the most amazing international friends I will ever make. Unfortunately this experience is about to come to an end so I'm enjoying every minute of fun I have left, meaning I'm neglecting my blog a bit. It will all be worth it anyway, because when I come back I will be so inspired to share all that I have learned and how I've grown as a person.

Day two of The Big Apple and this was another one filled with a surprising amount of sight seeing for one day. The day started with the most amazing breakfast at the cutest little place in Greenwich Village. Then we headed down to Washington Square Park where Beni took yet another great set of pictures for my blog. The look I wore under the only coat I brought to The City was a combination of a new top I bought there in one of the many H&M's with the best fitting camo pants and boots from Zara. After the park we saw Little Italy, where I had a canoli for the first time and it was delicious! Then we walked down Broadway up to the Brooklyn Bridge to later walk even more to catch the ferry to Staten Island and see the Statue of Liberty. Finally we had an amazing night at Times Square, which had a Red Lobster we had been dying to try and we could not end the night without some Cosmopolitans. It really was an amazing day and I owe it all to the person I shared it with, Beni (grazie!). More pictures of day three are to come, enjoy these for now! Yes! I finally made it to New York City and right when Fashion Week started, but being my first time in this magical place I did not see anything related to the event. In fact, I might have been near a show and not even know about it. I feel kind of guilty that I did not even try to see the event, but at the same time I feel I had no choice since I wanted to see much more before that. My friend Beni and I did see a lot in just two days and we are really proud of that. These pictures are from the first day, Friday February 7th. Our first stop was Central Park, which had become a Winter Wonderland and that made us love it even more. I was wearing a striped top from Banana Republic, with ripped jeans from Kmart, ankle boots from Zara, and coat and scarf from one of my grandmother's closet and the furry hat is from another grandmother (grannies are great!). After that we walked through Fifth Avenue until we found The Empire State Building. We had gotten there just in time for the sunset and it truly was an amazing site. The night ended with great eats and drinks at The Village, and boy was it fun! Enjoy the pictures, and in the next post you can expect more of my adventures in N.Y.C. Get ready for some real winter looks from now on! Here is the first look I wore to Albany, New York where I will be studying in SUNY's international student program. I wore a plaid shirt from Aéropostale underneath a burgundy cable knit sweater from J.C. Penney, a burgundy coat from my grandmother's closet (the best!), a matching scarf to add a little more color variation, and a pair of pleather pants from Forever 21 a long with the boots from Zara that have gotten me noticed here not only because of their awesome detail but also because of how I have slipped with them in the icy floors and sidewalks. It has been an incredible first week here because there is so much to do with really great people from all over the world. If you want to stay updated on all things Sequin Vision here in Albany it's best to not only follow the blog, but also follow me on Instagram. Enjoy my not so warm welcome to Albany. Hello again fellow readers, this time from Albany, New York! I can't believe I'm saying that, but yes I'm really here and it has been a great week filled with new adventures like getting lost and making friends from all over the world. Even though I am already here I still had one look from Puerto Rico pending and it is kind of a transition look from the hot weather there to the cold one here because of the rhinestone jumper from Old Navy, which you saw in a previous look of mine. Under the jumper I wore my coveted Zara slip dress that is actually the only dress I brought with me and I hope to be able to wear it. I also wore my Charlotte Russe lace up boots and a great new clutch from Wet seal with a cute grip that says love. I wore this on a dinner date with Texi, who is back home and I miss so much already. Until the next look, enjoy! Even though I just had a day of having everything going not the way I wanted, I feel that I am starting this year quite right because of my blog and the adventure I'm about to have in New York. It still feels unreal to me, but I know that once I'm sitting in that plane I'll know how real it is. In the meantime I'm gonna show you another look I might not be able to wear once I'm there in the cold. I wore this look to a Pre Magic King's Day party at a friend's house. The jewel printed top is from Banana Republic, the jeans are the ones you've seen before from Kmart only this time they are even more ripped, the cobalt shoes are from La Defensa, the aviators are from American Eagle Outfitters, and the brown quilted purse is from Lulu. I accessorized a little more than I usually do this time by using the cute vintage pendant necklace my grandmother gave me, the Armitron watch my boyfriend's parents gave me and some golden colored bracelets along with a cool arrow ring from Aldo. Enjoy1 Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since last year! (Yes, I just made that lame joke) I guess I'm starting 2014 with a great holiday look, even though the season is basically over (for most of you, unless you're a Puerto Rican like me). I wore this beautiful blue lace dress I got from Sheinside on their Cyber Monday Sale along with the perfect matching pumps from Shoedazzle for a Christmas Eve party with Texi and his family. To complete the look I matched my makeup creating intense eyes with blue shadows and simple lips. I have more looks from these holidays in store for you all, and also big news that is just going to make this year one filled with some even greater posts! For now, I'll just leave you in suspense, enjoy! What a night I had last Saturday! I was able to enjoy the great music of Queen, thanks to a tribute band from Argentina called God Save the Queen. They not only sounded exactly like the band, but they also looked the part. The singer stayed in character the whole night, it was as if he brought Freddie Mercury back from the grave. I sang along with my boyfriend and a couple of friends at Bahia Urbana, this nice little amphitheater in Old San Juan, where you can see the cruise ships leave the island, feel the cooling ocean breeze and hear the music in the best way possible. I went for a 90's style look with a top underneath the spaghetti straps of a sexy slip dress from Zara. I saw the dress styled exactly like this on the store's mannequin, and could not resist trying the look for myself. I was also wearing a pair of ankle boots from Zara and to add even more vintageness I used an old clutch from my grandmother's closet. The look and the night were both incredible, I hope you all think so too, but if you don't than...♪it doesn't really matter♫ To celebrate the finale of this semester, I present to you a look I was so eager to show, but could not due to all the last minute projects and exams. I wore this to work as most of my looks, and to make it work appropriate I wore the boyfriend checkered shirt from American Eagle Outfitters as a cover up. For some this look might be too busy with the plaid and the checks together, but I thought it was the perfect risk to take and make an awesome combination. What I kept in mind when I combined these two pieces were the colors, which those did match perfectly, other than the many many lines on the prints. I've seen this trending as well, so I could not help trying it because of that. Another trend I love and used here is matching a pencil skirt, this one is my first purchase from Asos and I got it at a steal, with a crop top, which is from Charlotte Russe. I could not help using the shoes of the moment either, which are these lace up heels from Charlotte Russe as well. To finish up the look I added a pop of color on the lips with my Urban Decay lipstick in the shade perfectly named "Anarchy". As always, I hope you enjoy this look and get some inspiration to try it. It would not hurt to get inspired to follow the blog and social media as well ;) Happy Holidays fellow readers! My favorite time of the year has finally begun, and I am so excited to share with you all the looks that make this season so great. It might not be cold enough in Puerto Rico to wear chic coats or play with a lot of layering, but there are still all the events that require awesome fashion since we do have an exaggerated amount of celebrations here. Today, I am showing a work look that can also be great for one of these events and also uses the most popular color of this season which is burgundy. The star of this look is definitely the burgundy skirt with laser cut details, which I recently bought a long with a few new items you’ve seen in my previous looks at T.J. Max. Pencil skirts and peplum tops are a great combination, and I made this pair even better by using a top from Charlotte Russe with laser cut details as well. Finally I had to accessorize with my Shoedazzle burgundy beauties, and my Aldo Miyata bag. Oh and I almost forgot, this look would not be complete without a pair of dark lips, which is also an accessory that is very in this season. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend, who wouldn’t with all the good food and all the shopping right? Well, that was my case, and I can’t wait to show everything I got. For now, you can get some holiday fashion inspiration with this look, enjoy! |
