Here is today's look which is mostly new pieces. I just love putting things on for the first time, well who doesn't? The black and gold sneakers and purse are both from the same place: Aldo, and it had to be to match so perfectly. The shirt, which I was actually wearing for the second time, but with the Aldo pieces felt like it was the first, is from Forever 21 and besides the pretty little crosses I also love the little pyramid studs on the collar (little details are so great!) The jeans I'm wearing are actually jean leggings from American Eagle Outfitters and I've worn them so much that I think I've only got two or three more times to wear them before they spontaneously com bust... or tear. The earrings were also a first and they are one of the first pieces of statement jewelry I've started collecting now that I'm pretty much obsessed with crazy and extravagant details. I was really wearing my hair down to hide my neck (birthday bucket list hint!) but for the earrings sake I had to put it in a nice bun to really complete the look. And finally to add a little extra of black and gold I wore my Forever 21 sunglasses.

It's finally here! The look I've been wanting to show with my new neon loafers with spikes! This was the look I wore to work for Black Friday (noticed all the black?) I was wearing a black leotard from Forever 21, black scuba skirt from Charlotte Russe, neon spikes necklace from Valija Gitana and the shoes are from Shoedazzle. I got the shoes about two weeks ago and I've been wearing them so much! They really aren't so hard to pull off, you just have to risk it really and not be afraid to get noticed. The necklace was a perfect match, which I bought on Black Friday already thinking about this outfit. I had seen it before and when I got to the store I saw it was the last one so I had to get it!. That night I also went to scratch out something from my bucket list for my 20th birthday, which I still can't say. Later I went to see Cloud Atlas again. I think I was more excited that other people who were seeing for the first time. It was definitely a fun night with a fun outfit!
This is the look I officially wore for my birthday, which was a little tough, although I had been longing to wear those pants since I got them from my grandmother's closet (yes there are plenty more pieces from there to come). It was tough to choose what to wear because it wasn't just my birthday it was also Thanksgiving and it was going to be outside. The location was at the old family beach house in Vega Baja, which has always been a place of unpredictable weather and were the guests go as a casual as possible. Therefore I wanted to be comfortable, yet pretty and standout and I think that is exactly what I did. People tend to forget its my birthday because of the turkey so this outfit helped on reminding them. A few family members asked me "Why are you so dressed up today?" and my answer: "Well its my birthday" cleared everything up, although they should know by know I always dress up for family gatherings. So as expected, the weather was not all that nice because of the humidity, which brought what seemed like mutant mosquitoes. Even though my legs were covered up well, I'm itchy all over today because of all the bites I got :S Still I love that place very much, a lot of good memories there. There is still one last look for my birthday that I wore on Black Friday (there is a little hint there) In the meantime enjoy a couple more picture of this one.
Yesterday, the day of Thanksgiving was my birthday, but since I didn't want to share that day with the turkey I decided to celebrate with my best friend the day before. We went to Macaroni Grill, one of my favorite places to eat and had such a good time talking we missed Cloud Atlas (yes I was going to watch it again) So we decided to a photo session instead. It was a lot of fun as you can see and there are so many more pictures to show, but I'll just post a couple more. I was wearing the Faux leather pants I got at Forever 21, which I have become obsessed with, a very pretty and shiny silky top I got from the big bag of clothes from my grandmother and the newest addition to my shoe collection: nude pointy toe pumps from Shoedazzle. After the photo shoot I went on to celebrate with my boyfriend at Shannans, which was fun except that Half of the young population of Puerto Rico was there so I stood in line for an hour and had to park very far away and walk all the way in those shoes :S Still I had a very good time, and the celebration continues...
Have you eve gotten bored or simply curious and suddenly started thinking about looks, even if you're not even going out? I think about looks all the time, but a situation like this, which I had yesterday gives me that push to start trying them on. I found this dress hidden in a drawer in the living room. I love long dresses and like ones that are figure flattering. Immediately after seeing this dress I thought of the perfect shoes to go with it that make the tiniest amount of turquoise on the dress pop. I was so excited about how it looked I left my hands naked, but at least i was wearing my grandmother's turquoise cross necklace even though you can't see it. The name of the look comes from a quote in Cloud Atlas, which I saw on Friday and fell in love with it. I'm hoping to see it again tomorrow when I celebrate my birthday. It's actually on Thursday, but since its Thanksgiving and all I'll be celebrating the days around it ;) Can't believe I'm turning 20, I'm even crossing something off my bucket list to make it really special, wait ti'll you see it.
Here is Saturday's look for my grandfather's 80th birthday and a friend's get-together. I was wearing faux leather pants from Forever 21, thrifted button down silky top, bubble necklace from Charlotte Russe, Charles David barely there heels thrifted also from my grandmother's closet ;) and Aldo envelope clutch. The look for me was very sophisticated yet comfy and the combination of simple pieces like the top, pants and shoes with the statement necklace and clutch give it a nice balance in addition to all the matching of black and beige. It feels like party season has definitely started, I love visiting friends and family at house gatherings because not only is it a lot of fun, but there's always good food and it is yet another excuse to get all dressed up. So there are more party looks yet to come!
This is the look for this Thursday, which was the opening of Skyfall here in Puerto Rico. I was a little over dressed for a movie theatre, but as Vivienne Westwood would say "When in doubt, overdress." Actually I wasn't in doubt, I just prefer to overdress if I feel like it, besides it wasn't like I was wearing a ball gown, at least I mixed it up with some jeans, which you might have seen in my last look Dash of Orange and that is the great thing about a pair of jeans, they can go from casual to formal in a snap! I also added to the look a beautiful white Peplum top with pearly deatils, which I think is the fanciest part of the look. I always like to add a pop of color in all my looks especially when I'm wearing white and red lips are one of my favorite accessories (yes I consider them accessories and you should too) so I pair them with the red pumps and the look is almost complete. Now comes the fabulous quilted purse I got at Charlotte Russe (my new closet) and the look is perfect! The movie was great too, even though I had to sit in front row, which I hadn't done since I saw Mulan in theaters. There you have it: a simple, yet fancy Peplum and Jeans look. Enjoy!
Yes I was finally able to show you a real fall look (at least for the weather in Puerto Rico) with the color that I had been craving for since September. I had bought the wool floppy hat at American Eagle Outfitters when I got the white top you see here and in my Dash of Orange look. I had seen that hat before, but I decided to wait and see, and as expected I got it on sale (good things come to those who wait :P) Next was the high low skirt, another craving of mine and thanks to a 60% employee discount at Charlotte Russe I was able to complete my burgundy look. The boots, the purse and the necklace you had seen before, but the bracelet was a surprise addition, which I had seen at work but waited to much and it was gone before I knew it (so careful with the waiting) Then i checked out an accessory store in the same mall and found it :D so good things come to those who wait and don't give up looking ;)
