Get ready fellow readers, I think this is the best post yet! You've probably seen all around the fashion scene the black and white trend like in Louis Vuitton's spring 2013 collection (love the checkered dresses!), and yes the black and white stripes. Here you see this iconic combination in what many (including me) like to call the Beetlejuice pants, or leggings in this case. Though most fashionistas I've seen like to combine this with well... more black and white to create a monochrome look, I needed to add color and what better way to do that in spring than with a floral print. The leggings and the red top are from Forever 21, the floral blazer and all the jewelry is from Charlotte Russe, and the black sequined flats are from Old Navy. When I heard from my parents we were going to the Fuertes' mansion in Cataño, I knew I had to take advantage of the beautiful landscape with the view of El Morro in Old San Juan. Texi arrived just in time for all the scrumptious food of the Culinary Fest my family was having there and for the incredible sunset that made the perfect lighting for a photo shoot. So as you can see I did not get as picky with the photos, I posted most of them including one of the photographer with the second love his life (hopefully I'm the first), his 1986 BMW E30.

Here's a look that is very spring. I love combining colors, especially pastels and neon. I wore this on Thursday to go to class, and as always people would usually look directly down at the loafers. I could never get lost wearing them. They are just another great buy from Shoedazzle. I was also wearing new Forever 21 lilac jeans, and the white top with the awesome back is from a unique store called Sirens. You might have seen that top in my "What is an ocean, but a multitude of drops" look. You also might have noticed I used the same backdrop as last time, I actually took this at the same time of the day as before and it's all because of the shadows. They don't look the same in this picture, but the forms the shadows take are just beautiful and can make a backdrop so unique. Enjoy more pictures and please comment if you like or have any suggestions for anything. I would gladly appreciate it.
ASOS dress, $34 / ASOS leather sandals / Marc by Marc Jacobs marc jacob, $400 / ASOS collar necklace / ASOS rose earrings / ASOS round sunglasses / Too Faced Cosmetics , $37 / Barry M , $6.97 / Lottie Camel Ostrich, $85 Here's another Polyvore collage I created for marc b. and Asos. They are hosting a competition similar to the one I posted about Lashes of London, in which the winner gets a £75 voucher to spend at marc b. and a £175 voucher to spend at asos. The winner will be chosen personally by the owner of marc b. on Monday, February 25th, lets hope that's me! You can also participate in the competition if you want by going to this link f you like the collage please comment below, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it, especially since I'm pretty new on Polyvore. Also, if you have an account there please follow me. I hope to be able to post these pieces on me in the future. Enjoy this for now ;)
I bet your thinking, wow a lot of posts this week, but I hope you think that in a good way, I sure do. I've been getting more excited about posting since I've been getting more views and followers. All this is thanks to a lot of work, patience and I definitely have to thank my fellow bloggers from the Independent Fashion Bloggers community who have been very supportive in following my blog. Of course, not all followers are necessarily bloggers or from that community, and I thank you also. Now on to the outfit you see here, which I wore to work yesterday, and got a lot of hits with the customers. I was wearing an open shoulder chambray top with studded collar from PacSun (I tucked the sleeves in, everyone thought it was all part of the dress, nice huh?), white dress and purse from Charlotte Russe and the beautiful white lace Lita lace up boots inspired by Jeffrey Campbell are from iOffer. One of the comments from the customers that made me feel especially good was that she said she was afraid to mix and match in different ways like I did, I told her to never be afraid to take risks. Sure it's easier to be said than done, but I've realized than no one ever really notices ordinary things, it's when you make them "extra" ordinary that their true beauty is seen. Besides, who wants to be ordinary in a creative world such as the fashion world? Well that's me trying to be philosophic. Enjoy more pictures!
Happy Valentines Day everyone! The look you see is obvious for the occasion (notice the heart shaped back i bet, and all the red). I actually wore this yesterday for work, to inspire the many, many buyers there to well... buy some more! The star of this outfit I would have to say is the turban, though. I found it while job searching at Ouna's Closet, a very awesome vintage shop. The peplum top and all the gold accesories are from Charlotte Russe, and I don't think anyone would notice, but the necklace is actually a bracelet that I creatively tied to a small gold chain I have. The faux leather pants that you might have seen in looks before is from Forever 21, the red shoes, which you've also seen before are from Payless, and the leopard envelope clutch is from Aldo. Hope you all have a nice day of love and friendship! Here's another picture of the look and to show you what inspired me here is the first collage I made with Polyvore, which is pretty different from the outfit I wore except for the Peplum top, but still it's a Valentines Day inspiration board to me. Enjoy! TIBI / Skinny leg jeans, $25 / Christian Louboutin pointy-toe pumps / Chanel leather shoulder bag, $5,915 / Hermès chain bracelet / J.Crew beaded jewelry / Miu Miu / MAC Cosmetics lipstick / Avalisa I Love You Stretched Wall Art / Valentine Print Love Never Fails RED Art Print Valentines Day Gift... Here is a look I wore this Monday, while job searching. I love my job at Charlotte Russe and I'm not planing on leaving, I just need another one to support myself. I was not going to any interviews, just went to drop off my resumés, but if you think that it does not matter what you wear before an interview, I strongly disagree. First impressions are very important no matter if you hand your resumé to a regular employee, the manager or the owner of the business. This is especially important in the places I went to, which were all boutiques. I was wearing a pink chevron print top from Charlotte Russe, navy crop pants from Forever 21, and nude pointy toe pumps from Shoedazzle, along with white and gold accessories like the Armitron watch Texi's parents gave me for Christmas, the arrow ring from Seven by Lu, which caught the eye of one of the people I handed a resumé to (that's gotta be a good sign) and my white quilted purse from Charlotte Russe. Would you hire me if I handed you my resumé looking like this? I hope so. The name for the look was inspired by The Carrie Diaries, which I have become a super fan of. Enjoy the look and enjoy the post before this one too. Next post is for Valentines Day <3
Cutout dress / Neon pink dress / Blouse / Embroidered t shirt, $155 / Lashes of London bomber jacket / Sin City Lasercut Bandeau / Leather skirt, $33 / Press, $155 Surprise! I bet you were expecting another photo of one of my looks, hopefully you will see me wearing one of these outfits in a future post. For now I present to you this collage, the second one I've ever made with Polyvore, which is about Lashes of London . This is a pretty new brand of clothing that is for girls like me who love to stand out. Like the Lashes Rulebook says "Reinvent yourself, be unique, turn heads." The outfits you see on this collage are my favorites, which I chose and put together (beautifully I might add) for a special competition for bloggers of the E-tail Webstores Blogger Network. The winner will be chosen by Lashes of London and will win £200 to spend on their website. Wish me luck! I hope you enjoy the collage and get inspired to make one of your own, or discover what this great brand has to offer.
Well I finally got one of those military utility jackets using the little money I had to take advantage of a special weekend 50% employee discount at Charlotte Russe, but sadly the day I wore it for the first time, which was for work, I saw a new one come in with black leather sleeves that I wanted even more. It was too late to get the other one, but I know I'm still going to get good use out of this one. In fact this outfit was for the day after to go to class. I was inspired to wear my Joy Division T-shirt from Hot Topic after watching Pretty Little Liars and seeing Emily wear it with a chambray vest. I knew the shirt and the jacket would look so rocker so I had to wear the black combat boots from Charlotte Russe and to add a little flower power and color I wore leggings from PacSun. This look might not have looked as well with the black leather sleeves anyway. I'm very happy with it, the only bad part is that the tropical weather (if you haven't noticed in the background of the photo) is getting stronger, so get ready for shorts, dresses and less boots!
Greetings fellow readers! I'm very excited about this post because it is about the Liebster Blog Award, for which I was nominated by Marine from thegloryby.com. I am so grateful and honored to be nominated and to have the chance to nominate 11 other bloggers like me that have 200 followers or less. Before telling you which blogs I chose, as part of the rules I have to list 11 facts about myself and answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated me asked. Here it goes: 11 Facts about me: 1. I love 80's music and movies. 2. I have three dogs and a cat: Tiny the chihuahua, Cinnamon the sort of shih tzu, Obie the real shih tzu, and Perla the cat. 3. I have like 10 notebooks filled with old poems and lyrics I wrote when I was younger. 4. I know every line in Mean Girls. 5. I love sitcoms like Fresh Prince, F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Seinfeld, That's 70's Show, and The Big Bang Theory. 6. I think I'm good at faking accents like British, Southern, Ghetto, New York, Snobby airhead (yes I consider that like a totally real accent) and others. 7. I cannot live without chocolate or coffee! 8. I love shopping and being the stylist for my friends. 9. I hate dentists ( I had braces for like 5 or 6 years, it was a mess) 10. I have like 30 pairs of shoes and hope to keep the collection growing 11. I wish I had the Pretty Little Liars Closet or Carrie Bradshaw's (or both!) ( I don't think 11 facts are enough so you'll see in these pictures the ones I mentioned and a little more) Questions from thegloryby:
1- From where comes the name of your blog ? It took me a while to choose the name for my blog, I knew I wanted it to be about fashion or style, but something original. I remembered a quote from Lady Gaga: "Now I'm just trying to change the world, one sequin at a time." I felt so identified with it that I took the word sequin as symbol meaning, not just the ornament used in fashion, but also a way of viewing life. So Sequin Vision was born and after saying many times I liked the way it sounded and stuck to it. 2- If you have to save one thing from your closet, what would it be ? It's not very practical, but I would save my prom dress, which is red with a mermaid silhouette and an intricate rhinestone design that covers the back. It was one of kind from a boutique called Kation. 3- Who is your favorite designer ? I love Marc Jacobs, I think his work in Louis Vuitton completely transformed the brand and I like the edginess of his designs. 4- What's your favorite blog? The Blonde Salad is definitely my must see blog, Chiara Ferragni's style inspires me all the time and the way she writes is always entertaining. 5- If you have the opportunity to work in the world of fashion, which job would you choose ? Even though I consider myself a creative person, I think I would rather put that creativeness on the business side of fashion, working as a market director, or even as a fashion editor. 6- You can choose one cloth or pair shoes that exist in the world, which one would it be ? Definitely a pair of Louboutins, maybe a classic style like nude pointy toe pumps. 7- What is the best tip about make-up or beauty somebody gave to you ? The best tip I think would be the one I use no matter what kind of makeup I put on, which is you can highlight and contour with a shimmery white shadow to make the eyebrows looked arched and eyes much bigger. Beauty tips on braiding hair are another that I like to search, especially on Pinterest. 8- What's your favorite cooking recipe ? I would have to say that risotto is a great recipe and there are so many types, but my favorite is mushroom, yum! 9- What got you into blogging ? I've been a dedicated magazine reader, but these magazines were not just exposing pieces by fashion journalists and editors, they were also showcasing bloggers. It got me into searching more about fashion through the internet and that's how I found Lookbook.nu and Bloglovin' where there was a whole community of fashion bloggers. So I started following blogs like The Blonde Salad. I also had to write a blog a couple of times for school work and I realized "Hey I'm pretty good at this, why not try writing about what interests me most, which is fashion." 10- What's your objective for the next years ? Most definitely I want to reach more than a 1,000 followers, but I mainly write my blog to express myself and hopefully inspire others to find their own style. Also I want to learn all I can about fashion, whether it's on my own like now or obtaining experience as an intern or in a continued education. This blog will be part of all that experience and hopefully others will like to share it with me. 11- What's the part you really enjoy about writing a blog ? The part I enjoy most is the satisfaction of seeing that new post you've spent hours editing being published (like this one), and apart from that getting responses from readers asking for advice or tutorials because that is one of the greatest benefits of blog reading: learning. Now the blogs I nominated (drum roll please!): 1. http://primstyle.blogspot.com 2. http://theshopcharmantdaily.weebly.com 3. http://misscelineous.blogspot.com 4. http://fashiongirl134.blogspot.com 5. http://fashionistanot.blogspot.com 6. http://kristinawilde.blogspot.com 7. http://acidbrights.com 8. http://emmicamille.com 9/ http://chicnrock.com 10. http://stylebows.blogspot.com 11. http://bodaciousthought.blogspot.com And the questions for these fellow bloggers are: 1. How would you describe your style? 2. What are your favorite places to shop? 3. Why did you start a blog? 4. Who are your style icons? 5. If your closet caught fire what would you try to save? 6. Who is your favorite blogger? 7. What is your favorite season and why? 8. What interests you most about fashion? 9. What goals do you have for your blog? 10. How did you come up with the name of your blog? 11. With who or what brand would you like to work with on your blog? Hey there fellow readers! Here's a look I wore to go to the university. The semester started a week ago and I have not been getting that much sleep because of all the thinking I always start doing right when my head hits that pillow, I especially think about what to wear the next day ;). I don't think I'm the only person that happens to; everyone should sleep with a notepad and a pen to right down all the ideas you come up with before you forget in the morning. Anyway, I was wearing a few things you might have seen before in my "Neon Pop" look, which are the neon spiked loafers from Shoedazzle and the matching neon spiked necklace from Valija Gitana. This time I wore them with a royal blue top from Forever 21 and the polka dots pants from Charlotte Russe you have seen in my "Polka dots are a walk in the park" look. The sunglasses are from my trip to Miami I had with Texi and his family last summer. These matched perfectly since they have all the colors: royal blue, black and a green that looks almost like the neon lime in the accessories. Finally I wore the white Armitron watch Texi's parents gave to me for Christmas and my trustee Miyata bag from Aldo, which I can't get enough of (you've probably seen it in like ten or more looks) and I hope you can't too. Enjoy this look until the next one!
